I have read about the 'local bird vet' before, sadly I couldn't find any locally and moved away from having birds in my house. Now I am coming back to the idea of bird but what can I do if there is no local bird vet? Thanks.

My suggestion would be to see if you have a local Bird Club or Aviculture Society ,they would have possible answers to questions you might have. Most vets will give advice over the phone, so even if you don't have an Avian Vet in the area, calling one could help you with issues your Bird is having.

I have just been discussing this with my partner, she doesn't like this idea but I do very much so. I just had a look and there is a local bird club near to me, this is good news.
